9 Time Limits and Gateway/Race Stoppage

  1. Marathon   6 hours (41.8km point)
  2. Fun-Run 1 hour ( 5.2km point)
  • The time limit will be measured based on the signal gun for both Marathon and Fun-Run.  It might take about 15 minutes for the last runner to pass the start line after the signal.
  • In accordance with the management of traffic, security, and the competition, we will install gateways on the courses as listed below and set the a closing time at each gateway.  Once a gateway is closed, runners cannot continue the race from that point. Runners who have not reached a gateway by the closing time set there must discontinue the race immediately, leave the course, and either board the ‘accommodation bus’ which follows behind the runners or go to the next gateway on foot and get aboard the ‘gateway bus’ at the gateway, following the instructions of competition officials and staff.  -Also, even if the gateway has not yet closed, if runners are significantly late and assumed not to be able to reach the gateway by the closing time, or even after passing the 11th gateway for Marathon / 2nd gateway for Fun-Run, if management decides that runners are significantly late to the finishing time and that the event will be disrupted, the runners will be directed to discontinue the race.
  • The location, number and the closing time of gateways are subject to change.
